Applied Research Laboratories

The Honors Summer Interns are selected from a list of candidates provided by the university’s deans of the College of Natural Sciences, Cockrell School of Engineering, and the Jackson School of Geosciences to participate in ongoing sponsored ARL:UT research programs. Because many of the programs focus on research that improves our national security, participating students often choose to pursue careers in this area after graduation.

Each intern is supervised by a research scientist or engineer and works on a project that can be completed during the summer program. In addition, program participants learn about the types of research done in our laboratories through presentations by ARL:UT staff and other program activities, such as a tour of ARL:UT's Lake Travis Test Station.
