About the Program

The Honors Summer Interns are selected from a list of candidates provided by the university’s deans of the Cockrell School of Engineering and the College of Natural Sciences to participate in ongoing sponsored ARL:UT research programs. Because many of the programs focus on research that improves our national security, participating students often choose to pursue careers in this area after graduation.

Activities

Each intern is supervised by a research scientist or engineer and works on a project that can be completed during the apprenticeship. In addition, students learn about the types of research done at ARL:UT through presentations from ARL:UT staff and a tour of ARL:UT's Lake Travis Test Station.
